Postmark, Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Postmark was founded in 2004 by the team at Duckhorn, one of Napa's most premium wineries. They wanted to shine a spotlight on the Paso Robles appellation, which in their view is the best place outside of Napa for Cabernet Sauvignon; something we're definitely inclined to agree with. Their 2020 Cab has been made with a touch of Petit Verdot (3%) and Cabernet Franc (1%). Showcasing the juicy dark fruit and velvety tannins that make the finest Paso Robles Cabernets so alluring, this wine begins with enticing aromas of raspberry compote, plum jam and blackberry, along with oak-inspired notes of vanilla and molasses from 18 months ageing in 40% new French oak. On the generously structured palate, lavish berry flavours lead to layers of chocolate and clove, with hints of warm baking spice emerging during a long, dramatic finish. Perfect with a BBQ.
